The New Birth

What Happens?

 John 3:3

 Romans 8:11

 Colossians 1:13

 Eph. 2:2

The Holy Spirit changed your spirit!

Why? Because the Word of God was accepted

Romans 8:11 saying “ But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you,

he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal ( human ) bodies (the main, central, or principal part) by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.”

Bringing your spirit back into a relationship with God.  In John 3:3, Jesus answered Nicodemus and said unto him, Verily, Verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

Meaning that he was unable to understand (grasp the meaning of) the Kingdom of God (Joy, Peace, and Righteousness).

When your spirit is changed:

*You are able to begin to understand the Kingdom

  *You come under God’s rule.

*Jesus is able to tell you how to live.

   *Jesus is ruling over you.

    *You are obeying the Word.

When your spirit has been quickened or changed:

• A desire comes in your heart to do Gods’ will.

• God places in you a desire to do his will.

• You have to want God to do.

• With God you have the will & the power to do.

• This will is too powerful to just rest in your spirit and do nothing.

Jesus had the will of God in Him.  He had the desire, the want to, the power to do, and He did; putting in action John 6:63 ….the words I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

John 11:43 reads: And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth.

Jesus fulfilled every law, even the law of sowing and reaping. The will was too powerful to just rest in His spirit and do nothing.

There is no such thing as once saved always saved!!!!!!

John 10:29 tells us:  My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.  Now people are misinterpreting this to believe that they can do whatever they want and go to heaven anyway.  If it’s in your heart to obey the voice of Jesus and follow him, you shall remain.  No one can force you to backslide.  You backslide because you choose not to obey the voice of Jesus (The Word) and follow.

Then you find yourself in Hebrews 3:12 that reads; Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing (forsaking, withdrawing, deserting) from the living God.

When you leave Jesus, you are spiritually dead.  Revelation 21:8 tells us “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: Which is the second death.”

Example of two men who followed God but decided to use the gospel to make money:  Hymunaeus and Alexander I Timothy 1:20 and         II Timothy 4:14.
